The band, entitled “The Alex Skolnick Trio,” will be headlining the third annual Sarasota Earthdance in Florida at the Powel Crosley Mansion.

Doesn’t seem like a weird thing to me, although it does to the writer of the article, almost all metal bands can be traced back to jazz roots and influences. This is simply taking it a bit further.
