Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Hello All!

It's been a while since the last Metalscape episode and even longer since the last post on the Metalscape blog. But the regular episodes are BACK at http://www.metalpodcast.net.

However this isn't the Wacken special you've been waiting for, that will be coming next week due to some technical difficulties. And expect more updates to the blog while we work some things out.

New iPods announced

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

If you are like me, then as soon as the iPhone came out, you wanted something similar but without the phone and more storage space. Apple held a press conference the other day that lived up to half of that dream.

These new devices, called the iPod touch offer all the features of the iphone without the phone. So you can browse the internet, check the weather, etc. However, the space is limited to 16GB in the largest model.

I don't understand how they can up the regular ipods size up to 160GB, and yet this iPod touch which is clearly made for video content can only hold 16 gigs so much for the "your entire music collection in your pocket" tagline. This just seems like a huge step backwards.

The Warcraft nerd formerly known as Corpsegrinder

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

My former WoW obsession finally sounds less ridiculous.

In an interview with heavymetal.dk, frontman for the most well known death metal band, Cannibal Corpse, George "Corpse-fucking-grinder" Fisher went off on a tangent about a video game.

In between spewing obsenities about gnomes and elves, he talks lovingly about his wife and children, then there's more bitching about being corpse camped whilst obtaining the elusive "Motes of Air".  Then praising the greatness of Orcs and giant cow men. The whole thing is both ridiculous and hilarious.

I like their last record, probably because Joey Jordison didn't produce it.

KISS themed float in Highschool homecooming parade

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

According to KissOnline.com, the Bellarmine-Jefferson High School homecoming parade on October 7 featured a KISS-themed float. The parade took place in Burbank, California (San Fernando Valley). All of the floats paraded down Olive Ave., in Burbank during the day, and in the evening paraded around the football field at half-time. The students performed to "Rock and Roll All Night". Student performers were: Joelle Haji as "Gene", Ashleigh Diller as "Paul", Vincent Huff as "drummer", and Jessica Alvarez as "Ace".

The school-wide theme was "music genres". Margaret Aston is the junior class (11th grade) advisor and told KissOnline.com the students picked KISS for their theme. The chemistry teacher designed the float but the students did all the work, buying the materials, drilling, painting, attaching, lights, makeup, and costumes, and performing. The students worked after school for a week putting the whole thing together.

Check out a photo of the KISS-themed float at this location.
